The 7 April 2014 has been set up in Pisa the Clinical Centre of Endocrinology and Endocrine Surgery at the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana, AOUP.
The Centre is set up as the most important unitary structure for the diagnosis, treatment and research in the field of endocrine diseases, especially of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal gland. With more than 3,000 thyroid surgery and 200 parathyroidectomies performed each year, the Centre is placed in a leadership position among all the centers operating in the field of Endocrinology and Endocrine Surgery. Inside you can make in a single cycle, and within a single structure the entire diagnostic and therapeutic, including metabolic radio therapy and chemotherapy. With its "Focus" on malignant thyroid tumors in particular, the Centre is an international reference point also in the testing of innovative therapies and drugs.
The Centre has a leading position in the field of traditional surgery but also the latest technology, with the robotics and endoscopic thyroid surgery.
Also intense training activity that sees the busy center in a continuous cycle with Postgraduate Courses, individual Tutoring, Consensus Conferences and Congresses.
