Ending 2015 by sharing knowledge and announcing the birth of a new educational project in 2016
Professor Paolo Miccoli accompanied by Dr Gabriele Materazzi and Dr Sohail Bakkar are invited as guest speakers in the 1st Conference of the Department of Surgery of the Royal Medical Services in collaboration with King Hussein Cancer Center and the American College of Surgeons-Jordan Chapter, which will be held on the 3rd -5th of December 2015 in Amman-Jordan. Prof. Miccoli and his team will also be performing live surgeries in a pre-conference workshop held on the 2nd of December sharing 20 years of experience in minimally invasive video-assisted thyroid and parathyroid surgeries.
With the aim of providing patients all over the globe the optimal care they are entitled to, through introducing surgeons and other health care professionals to advanced minimally invasive video-assisted neck surgeries, Professor Paolo Miccoli in collaboration with Dr Sohail Bakkar (from Jordan) and Dr Gabriele Materazzi (both trained by the former) announces the ongoing establishment of The Advanced Video-Assisted Neck Surgery Academy (The AVANSA).
The AVANSA will be an international educational academy based in Jordan. Starting in the second half of 2016, The AVANSA will provide educational courses for surgeons in minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgeries through theoretical sessions, video demonstrations and live surgeries. Surgeons will also be thoroughly introduced to innovative technologies and their proper use in neck surgeries.
Prof Miccoli believes that providing patients with a surgical strategy tailored to their concerns and desires begins by providing their care givers with the power of knowledge, and from this belief we look forward to 2016.
